It’s always an exciting time here at Prairie State Bank & Trust when we have the opportunity to welcome a new team member into our family. It is our pleasure to introduce the PSB&T community to Scott Johnson, the new President and Senior Lender for the Champaign region. To help you get better acquainted with Scott we sat down with him and got personal about who he is and his new role here at Prairie State.
PSB&T: How would your spouse/friends/family describe you?
SJ: They would probably call me the energizer bunny (laughs)… also determined… and loyal
PSB&T: What made you choose to join the Prairie State Bank & Trust team?
SJ: The atmosphere was a big part of that decision. It’s a family atmosphere which extends from the employees and customers I am lucky enough to work with daily, all the way up to our bank ownership.
PSB&T: How do you feel your role here at Prairie State Bank & Trust will allow you more opportunities to give back to the community?
SJ: I feel extremely lucky to be at Prairie State Bank here in Champaign. This is a thriving community, and we have some of the best, brightest and most determined people, and employees here. Helping our customers grow and expand with their personal banking and businesses positively impacts our community in so many ways.
PSB&T: In what ways do you feel Prairie State Bank & Trust separates itself from other financial institutions?
SJ: I genuinely feel like we are a TRUE community bank. You can tell the company cares about helping our customers at all stages of life.
PSB&T: What are you most excited about for your new role here on the team?
SJ: Helping our customers and our community with their banking needs and being a partner in their growth and success has always been a major point of excitement for me.
PSB&T: Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
SJ: I occasionally play guitar and am an avid golfer and tennis player.
PSB&T: What's one thing you are really bad at?
SJ: Wrapping presents… (laughs) definitely wrapping presents.
