Our PSB&T family is growing and we couldn’t be happier! It is our pleasure to introduce the Prairie State Bank & Trust community to Kyle Buhr, Savoy’s new Vice President and Commercial Lender. Kyle’s likability and focus on his clients are easily recognizable when you meet him, but we thought we’d give you some further insight into this new addition to our team!
PSB&T: How would your spouse/friends/family describe you?
KB: Dedicated and supportive, always there for them when they need me. They also know I’m not too serious—I love to have fun and share a laugh.
PSB&T: What made you choose to join the Prairie State Bank & Trust team?
KB: I chose to join the Prairie State Bank & Trust team because everyone I met during the interview process was incredibly welcoming and supportive. They truly made PSBT feel like the right fit for me. The strong sense of community and commitment to client service really stood out, and I knew I wanted to be part of a team that values both relationships and professional growth.
PSB&T: What's the best place you have traveled to?
KB: Hawaii! Me and my wife got to go there for our honeymoon, and can’t wait to go back.
PSB&T: Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
KB: I love to travel and explore new places. I’m on a mission to visit every MLB ballpark, so far, I’ve made it to 19.
PSB&T: What's something you find challenging about working in banking/lending?
KB: Navigating the ever-changing regulatory landscape. Staying up-to-date with new regulations and compliance requirements.
PSB&T: What motivates you at work?
KB: Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on my clients’ lives. Helping them navigate their financial journeys and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding.
PSB&T: What's one thing you are really bad at?
KB: One thing I’m really bad at is anything requiring artistic skills. I can’t draw to save my life.
PSB&T: What's your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
KB: Golfing, watching sports (Illinois football, Illinois basketball, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears are my favorite teams) and spending time with my wife, Hailee, and daughter, Harper.
PSB&T: What are you most excited about for your new role here on the team?
KB: I’m most excited about working with the team here in Champaign to grow the commercial real estate loan portfolio!
